I swear, we did not make him do this, Ann. Haha! Save it for his first date. :)
It's not very often that you see a neighborhood full of kids playing kickball after school, with one of the dads coaching and refereeing the game (he also broke for commercials that he made up, hence the video, haha!). We had 14 kids from our street and a few other close ones having a ball, literally. Katie kept riding her bike through the middle of the game and the kids would just stop and watch her...haha! So cool to see them kick it, old school. I wish more kids in more neighborhoods got out and played like this. I think there would be a lot less mischief going on. Don't you remember playing?
These pictures are gorgeous - love the captions! And I loved loved loved kickball as a kid! So happy you all are enjoying it too :D
ReplyDeleteI sure do! Cul-de-sacs are great for this.... I'm glad everyone had a good time. I loved this post!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a great neighborhood this sounds like!! This is so good for all the kids!
ReplyDeletei used to live in a little townhouse complex when i was a child and some of my best memories are from running around there with the other kids...it was a great space to feel safe in.
ReplyDeletetrina, i don't actually use a letterpress...it's embossing powder!
I love it. I grew up on a circle, we ran, road, skated and played around and around all day, everyday day. When the sun went down it was time to go in.
ReplyDeleteI hope that my kids get to play in the front yard as they get older- it is so fun.
Best,
elena
Oh how FUN! Looks like a movie scene. :)
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh * soooo fun!!! back to basics ... simple, clean fun :D I so remember playing kick-ball in my neighborhood ... flashlight tag was a hit at too ... good times * *
ReplyDeleteOh these photos made me smile!! We live in a world where it's difficult to pull a child away from their computer, TV or PS3 for family dinner ...so seeing FOURTEEN+ of them outside laughing, having fun, and getting exercise is an amazing sight to see :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a blast! This is what it's all about! Love it!
ReplyDeleteOh man, those lucky kids! I grew up in a fantastic cul-de-sac and we always played basketball and all kinds of games. Such a blast.
